Ingredients:

  • 225 gr Strong white flour
  • 6 gr Salt
  • 10 gr Fresh yeast
  • 135 ml Water
  • 30 ml Olive oil
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)

Method:

    Sift the flour into a large bowl, crumble the yeast into the flour and make a well in the center

    Pour the water and olive oil on the flour and mix to a soft dough
  • 3
    Turn out on to a lightly floured surface and kneed for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic

    Leave to ferment for about 1 hour until doubled in size

    Preheat the oven to 200C

    Cut the dough in two rectangles of about 8 x 10 cm

    Cut each rectangles in 10 strips. Stretch each strip gently until about 25 cm long

    Spread out the sesame (or poppy) seeds (optional) and roll each grissini
  • 9
    Lightly oil two baking sheets, transfer the grissini into he baking sheets. Brush with olive oil and leave in a warm place for about 10 minutes

    Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool down
